The location of the restaurant out the back of the bar was convenient and accessible. the meals served were excellent, according to multiple reviews. Another positive aspect was the cleanliness of the rooms, which were described as basic but good value for money.
There was a lack of amenities in the room, such as an iron and hairdryer. the noise from trucks starting up early in the morning was mentioned by guests as disruptive to their sleep.

We could see Cobden Cave from our window. We liked staying at recreation. So close to left bank art gallery, 20 minutes' walk to Greymouth train station.

The restaurant near our motel was great for a quick bite. the menu had a decent selection and the drinks were refreshing. the staff was polite and accommodating, making us feel welcome.
The overall experience was not great. the food was mediocre and the serving portions were small for the price.
